Read Psalm 27:4
Lately, something deeper has been stirring in my heart.
In the quiet moments, in prayer, in worship, in stillness, there’s a single prayer that rises again and again from the depths of my soul: “I only want You, Lord Jesus… only You.”
Yes, I am grateful for all the blessings He has given—my family, my work, my church family, and the daily sustenance He provides. But even with all of that, I find myself returning to the same longing: more of Jesus. Just Jesus.
I understand King David’s cry in Psalm 27:4:
“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek:that I may dwell in the house of the Lordall the days of my life,to gaze on the beauty of the Lordand to seek him in his temple.”
There is something so precious in setting aside the worries, pressures, and noise of life just to fall in love with Jesus again and again. Day by day, I hear His gentle whisper: “Come away with Me.”
And in that secret place—my personal prayer closet—He meets me. He comforts, restores, and reminds me that intimacy with Him is the greatest gift of all.
Can you believe that the Creator of the universe—the King of kings—desires intimacy with us? It’s almost too much to comprehend. And yet, it’s true. This is love beyond understanding.
I recently came across a post and I just had to share this beautiful reminder:
“Falling deeply and completely in love with Jesus solves many other issues and simplifies everything else. He keeps drawing me back to this one thing – intimacy with Him. He is the goal … not power or ministry gifts or even ministry itself… We spend time with Him because we are so in love with Him that we long to be near Him… He is the reward.”
That part pierced my heart. He is the reward. Not the answers. Not the miracles. Not even the calling. Him.
We often think we need to do more, achieve more, or even “feel” more to be close to Him.
But really, the invitation is simple:“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in…” (Revelation 3:20)
He is not far. He is near. And He is knocking.
Friend, let me encourage you: the longing in your heart for something deeper is not just emotion—it’s a divine invitation. He’s calling you to come closer. Don’t worry about being perfect or saying the right words. Just open the door. Just say, “Yes, Lord—I want You.”
This love isn’t complicated. It’s real. It’s faithful. And it’s waiting for your response.
So my prayer remains:Lord, more than anything You give, I desire You. You are the joy of my soul, the peace in my life, and the reward of my heart. Only You, Lord Jesus… Only You.
