OUR DAILY DEVOTION
- The Simple Way to Be Saved

Read Mark 16:16
When a preacher once asked a group of islanders how someone could be saved, they each gave different answers:
“By repenting and turning to God,” said one.
“With a sincere heart,” said another.
“Through prayer,” added a third.
“And by obeying the commandments,” said a fourth. They all thought salvation depended on what they could do. But the preacher was saddened, because they had missed the heart of the gospel.
The truth is simple and beautiful: we are saved not by what we do, but by what Christ has already done for us. Salvation is not earned—it is received by faith. Jesus said, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.”
To believe means to trust completely in Jesus—resting your hope on Him alone for forgiveness and eternal life.
To be baptized means to publicly declare that trust, showing that you have died to your old life and been raised to a new one in Christ.
There’s no boasting in this. No pride, no achievement—only grace. If you truly believe in Jesus, you are saved. If you have not yet believed, God invites you even now. The door of salvation is open, but there is only one door—Jesus Himself.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for making salvation so simple and free. Forgive me for the times I have tried to earn Your favor through my own efforts. Today, I choose to trust fully in You—Your life, Your death, and Your resurrection. Help me walk in obedience and live as someone made new by Your grace. Thank You for saving me.
In Your name, Amen.Bp. Paul Solomon Maglaya
