Read Jeremiah 33:3
God invites us to call upon Him with the promise that He will answer—not only with what we expect, but with revelations far beyond our imagination. Some blessings in the Christian life are common to all—such as forgiveness, peace, and hope. But there are deeper treasures of intimacy with Christ, higher experiences of His presence, and greater insights into His will that are “reserved” for those who earnestly seek Him.
Prayer is the key that opens these treasures. Through prevailing prayer, we move beyond surface-level faith into deeper communion with God. Like Jacob, we can wrestle in prayer until blessing comes. Like Elijah, prayer can call down showers of grace on barren places. Like John on Jesus’ bosom or Paul caught up to heavenly visions, prayer brings us closer to Christ in ways intellect and effort cannot.
If you long for a higher walk with God, let prayer be your chariot. When you open the window of prayer on your side, God opens heaven’s storehouse on His.
Reflection for Today
Am I content with the ordinary, or am I pressing through in prayer to discover the deeper things God has reserved for me?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me to call upon You. Give me persistence in prayer, faith to believe Your promises, and hunger to seek deeper fellowship with You. Show me the “great and mighty things” You have prepared for me in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
