Read Psalm 119:15
There are moments when being alone with God is far better than being surrounded by people. Silence can be wiser than speaking, and stillness more fruitful than constant activity.
We would grow stronger in faith if we spent more time in quiet communionâsitting before God, reflecting on His Word, and allowing His truth to settle deeply in our hearts. Meditation is how the soul feeds on Scripture.
Truth is like a cluster of grapes: to taste its sweetness, we must gently press it and let its juice flow. Simply glancing at the fruit will never satisfy our thirst. In the same way, we must âpressâ the truths of Godâs Word through thoughtful reflectionâpondering, praying, and applying what we read.
Just as our bodies arenât nourished by merely tasting food, our souls arenât strengthened by simply hearing sermons or reading a few verses. Real spiritual growth happens when we digest Godâs truthâwhen it becomes part of who we are.
Many believers hear Godâs Word but grow little because they skip the quiet work of meditation. They love the wheat but never grind it into bread. The fruit of truth hangs within reach, but they do not pluck it. The water of life flows freely, yet they do not bend down to drink.
Let us not fall into this same neglect. Today, let this be our renewed resolve:
âI will meditate on Your Word.â
Reflection for Today
Do I take time to sit quietly with Godâs Word, or do I rush through it? What truth can I pause and meditate on today until it strengthens my heart?
Prayer
Lord, teach me to love stillness in Your presence. Help me to slow down, to listen, and to reflect deeply on Your Word. May Your truth not just pass through my mind but sink into my soul, shaping my heart and life.
In Jesusâ name, Amen.
