The Emptiness of Life Without God

Nothing in this world can fully satisfy the heart except the love of God and His presence. People often try to find happiness in wealth, power, pleasures, or accomplishments, but all these are temporary and ultimately empty. Even Solomon, the wisest and most accomplished king, experimented with every kind of pleasure, luxury, and achievement. Yet after experiencing it all, he declared, “All was vanity and vexation of spirit; there was no profit under the sun.”

The lesson is clear: only union with Christ and dwelling in His love gives true and lasting fulfillment. The pleasures of this world fade, but the joy of knowing Jesus is eternal. If you have Him, even hardships feel bearable; without Him, even abundance leaves the soul empty.

Reflection for Today:Am I seeking lasting satisfaction in things of this world, or am I rooted in the love of Christ, my eternal portion?

Prayer:Lord Jesus, forgive me for looking to temporary things for happiness. Teach me to find my joy and satisfaction fully in You. Help me to trust in Your presence, to value Your love above all else, and to live each day anchored in You. Amen.
