Sailing with Jesus Through the Storms

That night on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus was the unseen Admiral of every boat. His presence in one ship guaranteed the safety of all. What a comfort to know that if we belong to Him, no matter how small or weak our “boat” may seem, we are secure because He is Lord of the sea and the storm.

Sailing with Jesus does not mean smooth waters. Even the boat that carried the Son of God was tossed violently by the waves. Following Him means we share in His hardships as well as His triumphs. But though storms may rise, they cannot sink the ship where Jesus dwells.

When human help fails and fear takes over, Jesus stands and speaks peace. With a single word, He turns chaos into calm, not only for His own vessel, but for all those sailing near Him. If He is our Anchor, our Rudder, our Lighthouse, and our Lifeboat, we can face the roughest seas with confidence.

The Church is like the flagship, and we sail alongside as little ships in His great convoy. Not one will be lost, for the great Captain steers us all to the safe harbor of heaven. Winds and waves may roar, but they obey Him. With faith in Christ, even in the storm, there can be a deep calm within.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are the Master of the sea and the storms of life. Help me to remember that following You does not mean calm waters, but it does mean a safe arrival. Be my Anchor in fear, my Rudder in confusion, and my Lighthouse in the dark. Keep me near You, and give me peace in the storm. In Your name, Amen.
