Read Revelation 1:13
In his vision, John saw “One like the Son of Man,” clothed with authority and power, wearing a golden girdle. This girdle signifies that Jesus is always ready for service—He never rests from His priestly and kingly work. On earth, He was never idle, and now in heaven, He continues to intercede for us with wisdom and love. The gold of His girdle reminds us of the glory, dignity, and authority of His work as our High Priest and King. Our cause is safe because He is both powerful and faithful.
This vision also sets an example for us. Just as Christ’s girdle signifies readiness and strength, we too must “gird ourselves” with truth and faithfulness. The Scriptures, applied to our hearts, are like a girdle around our lives—keeping us upright, prepared, and resistant to the snares of temptation. Life requires constant readiness, and the girdle of truth keeps our character strong, our resolve firm, and our service effective.
Reflection for Today:Am I living in readiness for God’s work? Do I allow His truth to guide and strengthen every part of my life?
Prayer:Lord Jesus, help me to gird myself with Your truth and righteousness. Let my heart and mind be steadfast, ready for Your service each day. Teach me to walk in the power of Your Spirit, so that my life may honor You and stand firm against every temptation. Amen.
