Read 2 Corinthians 6:17
As followers of Jesus, we live in the world—but we are not meant to live like the world. Our lives should have a different aim and a higher purpose. For us, “to live is Christ.” Every action, whether eating, working, resting, or enjoying life, should be done for God’s glory.
It’s not wrong to pursue goals, success, or even joy, but our focus must be eternal. Instead of storing up treasures on earth, we seek treasures in heaven. Instead of chasing temporary riches, we aim to be rich in faith, love, and good works. Even in our joy, we find delight in worship, lifting our voices and hearts to the Lord.
This separation isn’t just in outward behavior but also in the heart. A Christian should live in daily awareness of God’s presence, desiring His will, and walking in communion with Him.
Practically, this means choosing what is right, even if it costs us something—and rejecting what is wrong, even if it seems profitable. We cannot partner with darkness while belonging to the light. Our identity is royal—we are sons and daughters of the King. So let’s live in a way that reflects that calling: keeping our hearts pure, our hands clean, our eyes holy, and our steps steady on the path of Christ.
One day, we will walk the streets of gold and see the King in His beauty. Until then, let us rise above the empty pleasures of this world, fixing our eyes on the eternal glory that will never fade.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to be Yours. Help me live a life that is set apart for You—not conformed to this world, but transformed by Your Spirit. Keep my heart pure, my hands clean, and my steps faithful. Teach me to value eternal treasures above temporary gains. May my life shine as a testimony of Your grace until the day I see You face to face.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
