Read Deuteronomy 33:29
Some claim that following Christ makes life miserable—but that’s far from the truth. Those who say so have never truly experienced the joy of belonging to Him.
Think of what God has done for us: He has made us His children. Would a loving Father give all the laughter to His enemies and reserve only sorrow for His family? Never. If the world finds fleeting pleasure in sin, how much more should God’s redeemed people rejoice in eternal hope!
Yes, we may experience discipline and trials—but even those are signs of God’s love, producing in us the peaceful fruit of righteousness. The Holy Spirit comforts us in every season, reminding us that we are “a people saved by the Lord.”
We are not slaves living in fear but children adopted by grace, crying out, “Abba, Father.” We are the Bride of Christ, dearly loved and forever secure. Though we may walk through valleys of sorrow, our inheritance is sure, and our joy cannot be taken from us.
The world’s happiness fades like morning mist, but the believer’s joy grows brighter, like the dawn that leads to eternal day. Even now, we taste glimpses of heaven—moments of peace, worship, and love—that hint at the glory to come.
Truly, no one is as blessed as those whom the Lord has saved.
Life Application
Do you reflect the joy of someone “saved by the Lord,” or have temporary troubles dimmed your gratitude?
What are the “foretastes of heaven” God has already given you—moments of peace, comfort, or victory?
Take time to rejoice in your salvation today. Joy is not optional for the believer—it’s a testimony.
Prayer
Father, thank You for saving me and calling me Your child. Forgive me when I forget how blessed I am in Christ. Even in trials, help me see the joy that comes from belonging to You. Remind me daily that I am loved, redeemed, and secure—that my inheritance is eternal and my joy unshakable. Let my life reflect the gladness of being “one of Your people saved by the Lord.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.
