Guided by God, Welcomed into Glory

The psalmist knew his heart could easily lead him astray, so he resolved to depend on God’s counsel instead of his own wisdom. Recognizing our weakness is not a defeat—it’s the first step toward true wisdom, because it pushes us to rely on God’s strength and guidance.

Like a blind person leaning on a trusted friend’s arm, we too can safely walk through life when we depend on God. His Word is our compass, showing us the right path and warning us of dangers along the way. Without Scripture, we would be like sailors lost at sea without a map or compass. But with it, we have a trustworthy guide who knows every step of the journey.

The psalmist’s confidence is expressed in that simple phrase: “You will guide me.” He believed that God would never refuse to lead him. And even more—after guiding him through this life, God Himself would welcome him into eternal glory.

What a promise this is! Even though we are weak, prone to wander, and often make mistakes, God’s faithful hand will not let us go. He will guide us here on earth, and one day, He will bring us safely into His presence forever. That’s the hope we can hold onto, no matter how confusing or difficult life feels right now.

Prayer
Father, thank You for being my guide and counselor. I admit that my own wisdom often fails, but Your Word is always true and trustworthy. Lead me in every step I take, and help me lean fully on Your direction rather than my own understanding. Thank You for the promise that after this life, You will receive me into glory. Keep me close to You until that day.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
