Crucified With Christ

Paul reminds us that when Christ died on the cross, He did so not only for Himself but as the representative of all His people. His death paid the full penalty for our sins, satisfying divine justice and reconciling us to God. When we put our faith in Christ, we spiritually share in His death. We can say with confidence, “I am dead to sin, and the law can no longer condemn me, for Christ has borne it all.”

But this truth goes further: it changes our daily lives. Being crucified with Christ means that our old sinful nature is put to death. Temptations lose their hold on us because we are no longer slaves to sin. Yet, in this death to the world, we also rise to new life in God—alive in His Spirit, empowered to live in love, holiness, and obedience. The Christian life is a beautiful paradox: dead to sin, yet fully alive in Christ.

Prayer:Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for me and giving me new life. Help me to live each day crucified to sin and alive to You. Teach me to walk in Your Spirit, trusting that my old self is gone and my new life is secure in You. Strengthen me to rejoice in this mystery of being dead to the world but alive in Your love. Amen.
