Come and Dine with Jesus

After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples by the Sea of Galilee. They had been fishing all night and caught nothing, but at His word, their nets overflowed. Then came this gentle invitation: “Come and dine.”

These simple words reveal the heart of Jesus—a Savior who not only redeems but also welcomes His children into close fellowship. To “come and dine” means to draw near, to share His table, and to enjoy His presence. It is an invitation not to strangers, but to friends—those He calls His own.

When Jesus invites us to dine, He offers Himself as the meal. He is the Bread of Life and the Living Water. To feed on Him is to find true satisfaction, strength, and joy. Through His Word and Spirit, He nourishes our souls and renews our hearts.

“Come and dine” also reminds us of our unity with other believers. Around His table, all differences fade. We are one family, sharing the same Savior and sustained by the same grace. The closer we draw to Jesus, the closer we are to one another.

If you feel weary, empty, or distant from God, listen to His gentle voice today: “Come and dine.” Leave your striving behind. Sit at His table. Let Him fill your soul with peace, forgiveness, and strength for the journey ahead.

Reflection for Today
Am I taking time to “dine” with Jesus—to rest, listen, and be filled by Him each day?

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for inviting me to Your table. I come to dine with You—to be nourished by Your Word and strengthened by Your love. Draw me nearer to You and to my fellow believers. Let my heart find rest and renewal in Your presence.
Amen.
