Bring Them to Jesus

A desperate father came to Jesus, broken because his child was trapped in suffering. He had already gone to the disciples, but they could not help. Only when he obeyed Jesus’ call, Bring him unto me, did his son find deliverance.

What a lesson for parents, grandparents, and all who care for children! Children are gifts from God, but they also bring deep burdens and concerns. Sometimes they bring joy; sometimes, grief. They may grow to walk in the Spirit, or wander into rebellion and sin. Yet whatever their condition, Jesus gives the same command: “Bring them to Me.

Bring them to Him in prayer before they are even born. Bring them to Him as they grow, when sin shows itself in disobedience or indifference to God. Bring them to Him when they are older, even if they stray far, resisting His call. No matter how hopeless the situation may look, it is never beyond the reach of Christ.

Sometimes God allows us to feel our helplessness with our children, so we will realize how much we need Him. Our weakness can drive us to His strength. What a comfort that Jesus is still saying today, “Bring them unto Me.”

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I bring my children before You. You know their hearts, their struggles, and their future. Where I am weak, You are strong. Where I am powerless, You are mighty to save. Draw them to Yourself, guard them from the enemy, and let them find life and joy in You alone. Amen.
