Read Ephesians 4:15
Many believers settle for spiritual infancy—content to be saved, yet showing little growth in grace or maturity in faith. They live year after year with the same habits, the same struggles, the same limited view of Christ. But God’s will is that we grow up into Christ—not just know about Him, but reflect Him in every area of life.
It is good to be a “green blade,” but better to mature into “full grain in the ear.” We were not meant to remain seedlings in the soil of grace. The Christian life is a journey of continual growth—deeper love, stronger faith, purer hope, and richer fellowship with the Savior.
If your heart feels like it’s stuck in spiritual winter, draw nearer to the Son. Growth happens in His presence. Like a flower turning toward the sunlight, your soul will flourish when it stays close to Christ. Seek His face in prayer, meditate on His Word, and rest in His love. The warmth of His smile will bring spiritual springtime to your heart.
Let us not be content to merely believe in Jesus for safety, but long to know Him in fullness—His character, His power, His heart. The more we abide in Him, the more His likeness will shine through us, until others see not us, but the glory of the One who lives within.
Reflection for Today
Am I growing in grace, or merely existing in faith? What areas of my life need to “grow up into Christ”?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, draw me nearer to You each day. Let me not be satisfied with shallow faith or stagnant growth. Shine Your light on me, that I may mature in Your love, reflect Your character, and bear fruit for Your glory.
Amen.
