Read 1 Corinthians 3:1
Do you ever feel weak in your faith, unsure, or small in your walk with God? Take heart—spiritual infancy is not a failure, but a beginning. Every mature believer once started as a “babe in Christ.” What matters most is not your strength, but your belonging.
Even the youngest child of God is fully His child. You are as completely forgiven, redeemed, and loved as the strongest saint. Your faith may be small, but the Savior it clings to is mighty. You are not less accepted, less justified, or less cherished. The difference between a new believer and a mature one is not in God’s love for them, but in their understanding and enjoyment of that love.
Jesus is gentle toward His children, especially the weak and struggling ones. He does not quench the smoking wick or break the bruised reed (Isaiah 42:3). Instead, He strengthens what is faint until it burns brightly for His glory.
So don’t be discouraged if you are still growing. Rejoice that God has begun a good work in you, and He will surely bring it to completion (Philippians 1:6). Even a small faith holds the same Christ, and that is everything.
Reflection for Today
Do I measure my worth by my spiritual maturity, or by Christ’s unchanging love for me?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me even in my weakness. Help me grow in grace and trust You more each day. Strengthen my faith, deepen my love, and teach me to rest in Your perfect work.
In Your name I pray, Amen.
