Read Song of Solomon 3:4
What a beautiful confession of love! The believer who has truly found Jesus—the One their soul loves—cannot bear to be apart from Him again.
When we finally discover how gracious, kind, and forgiving Christ is, our hearts overflow with wonder. He receives us even after all our failures and wanderings. He doesn’t scold us for seeking comfort elsewhere first. Instead, He opens His arms and welcomes us home.
There is no one like Jesus. He is the best among all that is good, the fairest among all that is lovely. Why would we ever chase after other things for joy, peace, or love, when Christ is the source of them all?
Let us lift Him high above everything else—above our pride, possessions, and pursuits. Let every idol fall before His cross. Let Jesus be our greatest treasure and our eternal delight.
How could we have thought so little of Him before? How could we look for happiness anywhere else?
Now that we’ve found Him, let’s cling to Him with all our heart and say:
“I will not let You go.”
Life Application
Treasure your moments with Christ—through prayer, worship, and the Word.
Refuse to let distractions pull you away from Him.
When you feel distant, run back to Him quickly; He will always receive you.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are the One my soul loves. Forgive me for the times I’ve searched for joy apart from You. I’ve found that nothing compares to Your presence, Your peace, Your love. Hold me close, and let me never drift away again. Let my heart stay tied to Yours with cords of grace and devotion. You are my rest, my joy, and my eternal home. In Your loving name, Amen.
