Read Leviticus 13:13
At first glance, this verse sounds strange. How can someone covered completely in leprosy be called clean? Yet hidden in this Old Testament rule is a powerful spiritual truth.
When leprosy spread all over the body, it showed that the disease had run its full course—and the body’s natural healing process had begun. Spiritually, this paints a picture of how salvation works.
We are all spiritual lepers—completely stained by sin. But when we finally see the full extent of our sinfulness, when we stop pretending we’re “not that bad,” and admit we’re totally broken before God—that’s when healing begins.
It’s not the person who thinks they’re “mostly fine” who finds cleansing; it’s the one who cries out, “Lord, I am nothing but sin!”
When we come to Jesus with total honesty and humility, not hiding a single part of our brokenness, His blood makes us clean.
The most dangerous sickness isn’t sin—it’s self-righteousness. The person who thinks they don’t need forgiveness is far from healing. But the one who confesses, repents, and clings to Jesus will hear the same declaration the priest made:
“You are clean.”
No sin is too deep, no stain too dark, for the cleansing power of Christ.
When sin is fully exposed to the light, grace completely covers it.
Life Application
Admit your sin fully—don’t hide it.
Stop trying to justify yourself; instead, trust Jesus’ righteousness.
The deeper your confession, the greater your cleansing.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner through and through. There is nothing pure or perfect in me—only what Your grace can cleanse. Thank You for seeing me at my worst and still calling me to Yourself. Wash me completely in Your blood and make me clean. Help me never to hide my sins or trust in my own goodness again. I rest in Your mercy alone. In Your precious name, Amen.
