Read Psalm 92:4
Do you believe that your sins are forgiven and that Jesus has completely paid for them on the cross? If so, then you have every reason to be joyful! You should rise above the ordinary worries and troubles of life, because if your sins are forgiven, what can truly harm you?
Martin Luther once said, “Strike, Lord, strike, for my sin is forgiven. If You have forgiven me, then strike as hard as You will.” In other words, when you know your sins are gone, nothing else compares—whether it be sickness, poverty, loss, or persecution. You can still rejoice because forgiveness is the greatest gift of all.
But with this joy also comes responsibility. Be grateful and live in love. Hold tightly to the cross where your sins were taken away. Serve the One who first served you. The Bible urges us, “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship” (Romans 12:1).
Don’t let your passion fade into just singing or emotional moments—show your love in action. Love your fellow believers. Care for those who are weak, broken, or struggling, just as Christ has cared for you. Share the good news of God’s forgiveness with others.
When you live with joy and boldness in Christ, your life itself becomes a powerful sermon. Everywhere you go becomes a pulpit where you can proclaim His grace. Cheerful holiness shines brighter than words alone—but only God can give it. So seek His joy today before you step out into the world.
When your gladness is rooted in God’s work, you never have to fear being too glad.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the joy of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Help me to live each day with a grateful and glad heart, no matter what challenges I face. Fill me with Your joy and boldness so that my life reflects Your love. Teach me to serve others, to share the message of the cross, and to walk in holiness with a cheerful spirit. May my joy in You be my strength today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
