Read John 17:23
This verse reminds us that Jesus lives in us. That means we can have a very close and deep friendship with Him. It’s not like a small crack we have to squeeze through to talk to Him—our connection with Jesus is wide and open, like a huge river full of life and love flowing between us.
Jesus has opened the door for us to be close to Him, and it’s wide open. Imagine a beautiful city with shiny gates made of pearls—and all those gates are wide open just for you to come in. You are always welcome!
If we only had a tiny window to talk to Jesus, it would still be amazing. But God has given us a huge way to connect with Him! And even better, Jesus didn’t stay far away. He didn’t stay in heaven and leave us alone—He came to live right with us. He even lives in our hearts if we believe in Him.
How silly it would be if someone lived right next to you and wanted to be your best friend—but you never visited or talked to them! That’s what it’s like when we forget to spend time with Jesus.
If your best friend was in the same house, wouldn’t you want to talk, share meals, and laugh together? That’s how close Jesus is. He’s always near. He’s your Brother, your Friend, and He loves you more than you can imagine.
So don’t ignore Him. Spend time with Him in prayer. Talk to Him, trust Him, and love Him with your whole heart—because He’s already with you.
